Calling all songwriters!

I received an email from a friend of mine, forwarded from a Nashville songwriter named Austin Atteberry.  Austin is working on an extremely cool project, and is looking for a bunch of songwriters to get involved.  I’ll go ahead and paste the email below, since he can explain better than I…
A year ago, I emailed regarding a Dockers contest I was entering in order to get funding for an idea I had called The Sing Me a Story Foundation. Sadly, we didn’t win the contest but we pressed on anyway and have made considerable strides over the past year and we need your help again :)   Over the past year, The Sing Me a Story Foundation has incorporated with the state of TN, we have applied for our trademark and 501(c)3 status, we have a fantastic Board of Directors and have most recently partnered with some of the world’s largest volunteer companies. Furthermore, we launched our website three months ago which you can see at www.SingMeAStory.org.  As you’ll recall, we give children in children’s hospitals, orphanages and youth organizations the chance to write and illustrate stories about anything they want. We then distribute those stories to songwriters who turn them into songs, record them and send them back to the kids via our program. You can see an online presentation of how it all works here.  Stories are starting to roll in which is fabulous. (Here are some of my favorites…Childhood MemoryThe Fairy Went to MarketTwo Brothers and a Talking TreeA Toy Bear). Now, we need to get the word out as to what we’re up to. So I thought I would reach out to you again, I hope you don’t mind.  If you know of any songwriters who might be interested in our program (that includes amateurs, professionals, music teachers doing units on songwriting, music students looking for a project, etc etc), please pass along our site. Furthermore, if you know of partnering organizations that work with kids who you think might be a good fit, please let us know. Folks can sign up as songwriters or partnering organizations by clicking on the “Join Us” tab on our site.
Thank you all so much for your support. Until next year, be well.
Austin
I definitely plan to get involved in this—it’s an extremely cool idea, and I love the idea of so many artists collaborating toward a single goal.  If this is something that sounds interesting to you, you can sign up through the website link above, or contact me and I’ll forward your info to Austin if you want to speak with him personally and find out more.
