MASSIVE PRE-TOUR MUSIC SALE!  WOO!
I leave for tour in just a bit over a week!  AHHHH!!  SO EXCITED!!!!
Sorry… Caps lock got stuck for a second, there.  Anyway, I was thinking to myself: there’s probably a whole bunch of people who’ve signed up to my mailing list for the free songs, or follow me to watch my YouTube videos, or just keep track of my Facebook/Twitter/Blog because of my sparkling wit and devastating good looks (note: it’s most likely the free songs and videos thing).  I thinks to myself, I thinks: “I bet there’s a lot of people who’ve never actually heard both of my CDs.”   And then I thinks: “Well… that’s a shame.  If money is the issue, why don’t we go ahead and try and make that as little an obstacle as possible.”
Anyway, the inner monologue continued for a while, primarily because I got distracted by something shiny, and then wound up thinking about my cat for a good 45 minutes.  BUT, at the end of it all, I decided to have a massive pre-tour music sale!
Here’s how it works: go over to store.mattryd.com and click on the sale item.  You pay $5.  That’s it.  No shipping.  No handling.  No convenience charges.  Just five measly bucks.  After you do that, you get an email that has links to download digital copies of both my EP and my full-length album, “Looking For Home”.  Meanwhile, a physical copy of each album (assuming I have any copies of the EP left.  It’s first-come-first-serve and  after the first week of this sale, I can literally count on my fingers the amount I have left) is mailed to you.  If you want me to sign it, or write you a personalized note, or draw a dinosaur eating a pizza, you can make a note through PayPal, or reply to the email with the download links.
The point is: music is fun!  I’m very proud of my music, and I want it to be out there.  And I’m so SO excited to be going on tour and hopefully meeting a whole bunch of you, and the best way I can think to celebrate is by doing something like this.  So if you don’t have my CDs yet, now’s your chance!  If you only have digital copies of one or two songs (say, because you heard “Healed” on Scrubs and you bought it on iTunes), here’s an opportunity to get all of my other music for WAY less than you’d pay on a digital store.  AND you get the physical copy, too—and the artwork is awfully pretty, if I do say so myself.
Anyhoo.  I talk too much.  Have you guys noticed that yet?  Moral of the story: go to store.mattryd.com, order yourself some really cheap music, make me draw or write something silly, and then come see me when I hit your town!  We’re gonna have tons of fun—I promise! :-)
And if you’re not following the tour blog yet, go check it out: xoeandmatttour.com.  Right now, it’s all Xoe, but in a week, you can expect my usual brand of verbosity and moderate mania to be scattered all over that site.
Tour!  Music!  Fun!  Yay!
